COLUMBUS, Ohio — Pool season is officially arriving in Columbus with city pools opening up for the summer. 

Several pools will be open for Memorial Day weekend, but all pools will open by Saturday, June 7.


What You Need To Know

  • Several city pools will open for the weekend on May 24-26 and May 31-June 1

  • All city pools will open by June 7

  • Admission to city pools costs $1

  • Pool hours are Monday-Friday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.

“Our pools are more than just places to cool off—they’re places where families connect, kids gain confidence and communities come together,” said Bernita A. Reese, M.S., CPRP, director of Columbus Recreation and Parks Department. “We’re proud to offer safe, affordable access to swimming and summer fun for all Columbus residents.”

The pools opening early for the weekends of May 24-26 and May 31-June 1 include:

  • Dodge Pool: 645 Sullivant Ave., 43215
  • Driving Park Pool: 1100 Rhoads Ave., 43206
  • Glenwood Pool: 1888 Fairmont Ave., 43223
  • Tuttle Pool: 240 W. Oakland Ave., 43201

The rest of the city's pools will open daily start June 7. There are other pools that will be closed on city holidays, including:

  • Lincoln Pool: 570 Woodrow Ave., 43207
  • Marion Franklin Pool: 2699 Lockbourne Road, 43207
  • Maryland Pool: 1380 Atcheson St., 43203
  • Windsor Pool: 1300 Windsor Ave., 43211

Pool hours are Monday-Friday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. This summer, admission costs $1, but only credit cards, debit cards or tap-to-pay methods will be accepted, as the pools will be cashless.

Admissions can also be added to resident's Leisure Cards at the Columbus Aquatics Center or any community center. These cards are free and required for admission; they can be picked up at any community center.
