An Arctic cold front brought the coldest weather of the Fall thus far late Tuesday and early Wednesday morning. Temperatures fell below freezing before midnight, setting a new record low for the day. Wednesday’s record low was broken a few hours later – both records had stood for more than 100 years.

Dry high pressure brings a sunny but cool day for Wednesday. Highs will reach into the middle 50s. Another spate of freezing temperatures is expected towards Thursday morning with many spots dropping to the low 30s. but since the first freeze of the season verified on Wednesday, no freeze warning will be issued for Thursday.

Temperatures begin to climb Thursday afternoon as southerly winds return behind departing high pressure. Highs rise to the 60s with near 70 by Saturday. Moring lows will warm to the 40s.
