High pressure aloft and some very dry mid-level air is working southward across Texas.  This should allow skies to clear for the afternoon and with ample sunshine, temperatures should quickly rise.  The metro area will remain dry with partly cloudy skies. Look for warmer temperatures but still near normal; 91 for Tuesday as our high.

Overnight skies will become cloudy and some patchy fog is possible along and east of I-37 towards the coast. Lows will fall to the low 70s. The overall pattern will persist through the Thursday with highs around 90 and lows in the lower 70s.

By Thursday afternoon, the sea breeze is expected to get more active. This may push a few afternoon thunderstorms toward the I-35 corridor. Then a developing tropical system in the Gulf of California may send high level moisture towards Texas this weekend enhancing our chance of rain. Overall, the weekend features scattered rain and thunderstorms but should not be a total washout. Temperatures will stay near seasonal normal with lows in the 70s and highs near 90.

The Autumnal Equinox occurs Saturday, the first day of Fall. See the details in the Seven Day Forecast.
