The dog days of August will bring seasonably hot temperatures, but we may see a couple of afternoon showers as well.

A disturbance that has moved into Mexico will produce widespread rains for South Texas and along the Texas coast.  Rotating around this area of low pressure a few of these showers may reach the afternoon. They will be spotty and brief lasting only 10 to 15 minutes. Otherwise, expect partly sunny skies with highs in the mid to upper 90s.

This system will move further into Mexico by Tuesday through the middle of the week shutting off the moisture supply from the Gulf of Mexico.  We're back to hot and dry from Tuesday through Thursday with highs in the upper 90s to near 100.

Next weekend may bring a little better chance for showers and thunderstorms as a cold front moves into North Texas.  This will be close enough to potentially bring some rains to our area next weekend.
