The cold front that sparked some showers and thunderstorms Tuesday has stalled across extreme South Texas.  Behind the front a dry northerly flow has ushered more comfortable weather into the area.  With plenty of sunshine today expect highs in the upper 90s, but humidity levels will be quite low for the first day of August.

With the dry air in place tonight, temperatures will fall into the upper 60s to low 70s.  Some areas in the Hill Country may actually fall into the mid 60s under clear skies.  Humidity levels will remain fairly low Thursday, but gradually creep back up as a southeast wind develops Thursday night.  This will bring Gulf moisture back into the region Friday into the weekend.  Look for mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 90s.

The next chance for showers will hold off until Monday and Tuesday next week as an easterly flow develops aloft.  This may produce a couple of showers but the chances are low at 20%.
