The high at San Antonio International was 105 Monday afternoon setting a new record for July 23.  The record was 103 first set in 1898 and tied in 1994.  Monday was the hottest day during this heat wave.

The upper level area of high pressure that brought extreme heat to the Lone Star state is backing off to the west taking the highest heat with it.  Also a weak front is sinking southward into South Central Texas today.  This will bring in a little more cloud cover and a few showers or isolated thunderstorms this afternoon.  Temperatures will be down a few degrees today but expect triple digits again. The humidity has crept up a tad a well so a Heat Advisory is in effect until 8pm Tuesday.  Heat indices will range between 102 and 104 this afternoon.

Any shower chances will quickly diminish this evening then look for partly cloudy skies overnight.  Lows will be muggy in the upper 70s.

Expect quiet weather the rest of the week into the upcoming weekend.  Highs will range from 98 to 101.  We may start to see some changes early next week.  Another front is poised to move through the Plains into the Lone Star state bringing a chance for showers and thunderstorms Monday into Tuesday.
