The artistic creations of more than 120 were showcased at the University at Buffalo Center for the Arts Sunday.

The National Veterans Creative Arts Festival brought together vets from across the country. All received gold medals for their work.

The festival is part of an ongoing effort to expand services in the Department of Veterans Affairs healthcare system.

“It’s an extra way to deal with both physical rehabilitation and emotional trauma and emotional issues that many veterans face,” said Mary “Dubbie” Buckler, executive director of the American Legion Auxiliary.
