In a recent Yahoo Sports report linking college basketball players to agents, Texas junior Eric Davis Jr. was named. The report came out Friday morning and by Friday evening the University of Texas had decided Davis will not play in games moving forward.

Part of the statement released by UT athletic director Chris Del Conte said this “We have initiated an internal review of the recent report that included allegations involving current and former University of Texas men’s basketball players. We are in the process of gathering facts, but I did meet with Eric Davis Jr. this afternoon and let him know we are withholding him from competition for precautionary reasons until further notice, pending the review of this situation."

Davis remains with the team and was on the bench during the Longhorns win Saturday over Oklahoma State. After the game UT head coach Shaka Smart had plenty to say about how they are handling the situation with Davis and the state of college basketball as a whole.
