It's called the 'Power Issue' and in years past, Texas Monthly admits its focused mostly on people with political power.

But this month's magazine features a nun on the cover. Sister Norma Pimentel, which the magazine dubs the “Patron Saint of the Border.”

Texas Monthly's editor-in-chief said he wanted to try something new with this issue.

“When you define power narrowly, it tends to fall into politics and business,” said editor-in-chief Rich Oppel. “If you define it more broadly, who are the people of influence and power in many different walks of life, than it becomes a more interesting deck of cards.”
