Survivors of Texas mass shootings took their concerns to the Capitol Thursday. They were invited to participate in the third and final day of Governor Greg Abbott's roundtable discussions on school safety. He convened them in the wake of the Santa Fe school shooting that killed 10 people last week.

They met for nearly four hours, half of which was open to the media. Emotions ran high as survivors recounted their stories of survival. They offered lawmakers recommendations including arming more teachers, providing a mental health counselor in every school and parents who own guns should be held accountable for kids who misuse them.

While groups on both sides of the aisle have said they're encouraged these meetings are taking place, Rep. Lloyd Doggett, D-Austin, says he has his reservations about what will actually be accomplished.
