WASHINGTON — Members of the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs joined President Trump for the National Day of Prayer. Pastor Frank Pomeroy, his wife Sherri and church members were invited by the White House for this morning's prayer. The Pomeroy’s 14-year-old daughter, Anabelle, was one of the 26 victims killed in last November's massacre. Our Reporter Margaret Chadbourn shares highlights from this morning’s events.

There is a move by some to have the 2020 Republican National Convention held in San Antonio. Republicans say hosting the convention will be a big boost to the San Antonio economy and the surrounding areas, but local Democrats are afraid hosting it will create a divide in the community. The San Antonio City Council is scheduled to talk about it in executive session Thursday and reporter Annette Garcia will have more about their decision.

May marks National Mental Health Awareness month. According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, each year, 1 in 5 American adults cope with mental health conditions. Mental illness has a higher prevalence rate than most commonly recognized public health issues, but it remains a health issue most people don’t openly discuss. We speak to Greg Hansch with NAMI Texas about what can be done to aid those living with mental illness.
