SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State police are looking for two suspects after a man was stabbed at a San Marcos holiday event Wednesday night.

A stabbing was reported at the Sights and Sounds event at the San Marcos City Park, near the Texas State campus, around 10 p.m. The victim was discovered with a stab wound to the neck while he was at the festival. 

Police described the suspects as two Hispanic males in their 20s. One of the suspects has a neck tattoo.

The victim was transported to the Seton Hays Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. 

“We believe there was an existing disagreement between these individuals that resulted in this incident occurring,” said Chief of Police Chase Stapp.  “The public should feel confident to attend and bring their families to the final three nights of Sights and Sounds and enjoy a safe and festive night of fun.”
