SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Food Bank will host two events for Thanksgiving to help fight hunger and feed hope.

  • Annual Turkey Trot 5K
  • Record 5,000 runners
  • Meals at Haven for Hope 

On Thanksgiving morning, a record 5,000 runners will gather to run for the food bank’s annual Turkey Trot 5K.

Through entry fees, participants will donate money to provide turkeys for families in need throughout the San Antonio area. For every $15 generated by the race, the San Antonio Food Bank can provide one turkey to a family in need during the holiday season.

Registration will begin at 6:30 a.m. and the race will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the H-E-B Arsenal, 646 S. Main. The route will continue through King William District to the Alamo and back.  

At 11:30 a.m., the food bank will provide meals to residents of Haven for Hope made possible by donations from USAA.

The San Antonio Food Bank provides meals to residents of Haven for Hope seven days a week, 365 days a year.
