MEXICO – A San Antonio pastor has joined the migrant caravan headed toward the U.S. border.

Pastor Gavin Rogers from Travis Park United Methodist Church is traveling with Honduran migrants.

Rogers began his journey in Mexico City to get a firsthand look at the thousands of asylum seekers. It is now day four of his travels and as of Monday night the group is in Guadalajara.

The pastor plans to continue the journey north with the group until they reach the border.

In a Facebook Live video, Rogers said so far he has made lifelong friends. According to Rogers, the migrants have divided themselves into groups based on where they are from with a self-appointed leader.

The Associated Press is reporting that the caravan, which is mostly families, has been traveling for one month.
