AUSTIN, Texas — Austin police say a mock TSA training device was found during a suspicious package call on Saturday.

According to police, the bomb unit assisted Kyle Police Department on the call. Once the package was rendered safe, it was determined the device was accidentally sold to a private citizen at a government surplus store.

APD determined the training devices may have been located in a Crock-Pot or printer boxes, labeled as E709-A Hewlett Packard, and sold at the store.

Anyone who bought a Crock-Pot or printer in a box labeled E709-A Hewlett Packard from the State Surplus Store, located at 6506 Bolm Road, is being asked to return the item, or call 911 and local law enforcement can assist in its removal.

APD says the devices are not explosive or harmful, but can appear that way.
