AUSTIN, Texas -- Lawyers are working to get hundreds of thousands of Texas drivers refunds on red light camera fines.

They asked the Texas Supreme Court on Friday to overturn a lower court decision to dismiss a lawsuit against the city of Willis.

The suit claims Willis and dozens of other cities illegally issued red light camera tickets. Attorneys said the cities failed to perform engineering studies, which are required to give them the authority to fine drivers.

There is no information on when the Supreme Court will make a decision.
