TEXAS – Texas voters have reported issues with straight-ticket voting on ballots ahead of the midterm election.

The Texas Civil Rights Project is encouraging voters to double-check their ballots before casting their votes. Multiple people claimed that after straight-ticket voting, they saw one or more of their votes switched to the opposite party.

“You must check your ballot before casting to ensure it’s correct, and you can ask a poll worker for help,” states the Texas Civil Rights Project in a tweet.

The Texas Secretary of the State said the issue is with the Hart e Slate voting machines. The machines have an “enter” button and a selection wheel to help voters pick their candidate. Voters are reminded to wait to hit the “enter” button until the page is fully rendered.

Anyone with questions is encouraged to call 866-OUR-VOTE.

Early voting ends on November 2 and Election Day is November 6.
