SAN ANTONIO – Pearl Park will host its second annual Dia De Los Muertos celebration featuring live music, altars/ofrendas, art, a procession and more.

The celebration will happen November 1 and 2 and honor the traditional Mexican holiday that remembers family and friends who have passed away.

Both days will feature traditional altars created by local and regional artist including local students. Mexico City-based artist Krima Muyaes will also being creating an altar. Her art will be available for purchase through November 11.

Actress Estela Williams will be performing as La Catrina (a skeletal woman figure often referred to as Mexico’s Grand Dame of Death), during the event.

November 1, 4 - 9 p.m. (Pearl Park):

  • 5 - 5:45 p.m. – Live music by Tallercito de Son
  • 5:50 - 6 p.m. - Ambassador Reyna Torres Mendívil of the Consulado General de México en San Antonio to give remarks
  • 5:30 - 7 p.m. - Sugar Skull Demo at Hotel Emma. Link to tickets
