SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Water System is sending a tanker to assist with the Austin boil water notice.
A boil water notice was issued for Austin Water customers Monday morning following a week of massive flooding in Texas. Floodwaters in the Highland Lakes are full of debris prompting the notice for Austin to kill harmful bacteria by boiling water.
SAWS sent a tanker equipped with 5,000 gallons of water to Austin. The tanker will remain in Austin to assist as needed.
As soon as the boil water notice was issued, water bottles flew off H-E-B shelves in Austin. Ten tractor-trailers are heading to Austin H-E-Bs to replenish the water bottle supply.
