SAN ANTONIO -- Bexar County hosted its third Second Chance Job Fair Wednesday at the Freeman Coliseum.

The job fair was for employers committed to hiring the formerly incarcerated.

It is an opportunity where job seekers can connect with potential employer regardless of their past history. About 100 employers were present from a variety of industries including hospitality, food service, construction, transportation and trucking.

In addition, there were nonprofits, information on how to expunge a criminal record, tattoo removal and haircut services.

Bexar County helps throughout the entire process starting with resume building, providing clothes and bus passes and more making it everything needed for that second chance.

"We have 672,000 people who have been through the criminal justice system here in Bexar County and it's very important that they get jobs because if they have a job they are not going to be committing crimes, they are not going to be robbing and they are not going to be selling drugs," said Precint 4 Commissioner Tommy Calvert.
