SAN ANTONIO -- An off-duty Bexar County Sheriff’s detention deputy was arrested for theft by the Balcones Heights Police Department at 6:34 p.m. on Monday.

The detention deputy, who was previously assigned to the Detention Bureau, has been employed with BCSO since February 2017.

Upon Sheriff Javier Salazar personally visiting with the deputy at the Magistrates Office, the deputy submitted a resignation letter to him.

BCSO Internal Affairs will conduct a separate administrative investigation into this incident, pending further criminal investigation of the case by the Balcones Heights Police Department.
