SAN ANTONIO -- A new silver and black dance troop made their first-ever appearance in San Antonio.

• Event was put on by Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
• The squad’s performance appearance comes after the Spurs organization disbanded the Silver Dancers

The newly-named 'Black Diamonds' performed at the Light the Night Walk. The event, put on by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, hosted the team for their official debut. Their appearance comes after the Spurs organization disbanded the Silver Dancers in May.

The coach, a former Silver Dancer herself, is leading the 10-member squad.

"This is our first year and we are really excited to get our name out there. We are trying to represent San Antonio as best as possible. It's just going to be something new and exciting for all of us,” said member Courtney Garcia.

The squad is expected to make a second appearance Sunday at the McDermott Convention Center. Alumni of the disbanded NBA dance team are said to be attending in full support.
