AUSTIN, Texas – Former President Barack Obama has congratulated Texan and Saints quarterback Drew Brees on becoming the new all-time NFL passing yardage record holder.

Brees, a graduate of West Lake High School, surpassed Peyton Manning’s record and become the National Football League’s all-time leader in yards passing, according to the Associated Press.
On Monday night, Brees passed a 62-year touchdown to Tre-Quen Smith, helping to bring New Orleans to their 43-19 victory over the Washington Redskins, states the AP.
Following the win, Obama tweeted “Congratulations to Drew Brees on the all time passing record. Always a class act.”
Brees calls Austin his hometown.
Fellow Westlake High School alumnus and Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger talked about his sense of pride having walked the same halls as Brees.
