SAN ANTONIO -- More than 100 veterans with disabilities are participating in the Valor Games Southwest this week.

This is the sixth year the Alamo City is hosting the adaptive sports competition.

For three days, veterans and active service members will participate in events like cycling, table tennis, power lifting and more.

Organizers of the event said that the games are a great way for veterans to get back into the world after an injury.

"It's rehab, but it's more than that. It is achievement, you get to see what you can achieve, get on a bike. It's not in a hospital room. It's out in the world. They get back in the world and get back in the game,” said Ross Davis.

San Antonio is among three cities to host the games. The event runs until Thursday.
