SAN ANTONIO -- A San Antonio man is reunited with his dog after enduring a heated custody battle with a Dallas-based rescue group.

Saturday, Jim Martin got to see his pup Olaf for the first time since July.

In the last week, the 80-year-old has been in court fighting for the dog's return. Olaf has been in the care of Lone Star Westie Rescue since he went missing two months ago. The group refused to return Olaf back after claiming the dog was in poor health, which was a breach of the contract Martin had signed when he adopted the dog. Friday, a judge ruled in favor of Martin and allowed the two to be reunified.

Olaf’s return was also made possible by philanthropist Kym Rapier. The former San Antonio resident donated the legal fees to sue the rescue and return the dog.

The judge's ruling is temporary as Martin will return for trial later this year. For now, the dog owner said he is just looking forward to spending time with his pal.
