SAN ANTONIO – Jose Alberto Garcia asked for forgiveness as he was led to jail in handcuffs Thursday afternoon.

"God bless y'all. I had an accident and they're trying to blame me for four aggravated assaults," Garcia said about the crash police say he caused.

Investigators believe Garcia drove his white car into a bus stop on Aug. 28 at 11 a.m. The four people injured are still recovering.

“One of them a woman who was pregnant. She had to give birth shortly after this accident had occurred. And by the grace of God they're doing just fine. At this time the baby is the only one in the hospital," said San Antonio Police Department spokeswoman Jennifer Rodriguez. "The other people suffered broken bones."

The investigation determined that Garcia was driving 60 mph through the intersection of Culebra and Zarzamora on the West Side. The speed limit there is 40 mph.

“For the families that I hurt. I love y'all. God bless y’all. Just know that I didn't mean to hurt y’all at all and I hope y’all do better in y’all health and get better," said Garcia.

Garcia now faces four counts of aggravated assault. If convicted, he could get 2 to 20 years in prison for each count.
