AUSTIN, Texas -- Thousands more Texas children will soon be eligible for special education, however a report states that there are not enough teachers to fulfill the need.

A report from The Houston Chronicle stated that Texas needs 9,000 Special Ed teachers.

The U.S. Department of Education said Texas school districts illegally capped the number of Special Ed students for a decade. It could mean an additional 150,000 special education students by 2021.

There is not only need teachers, there is a need for funding as well. Lawmakers have to find another $50 million to compensate wrongly-denied students.
