SAN ANTONIO – A man has been detained after he threw an axe at a moving train in San Antonio overnight on Friday.

Around 12:37 a.m. police said a man hit a train with an axe, which bounced off and hit him in the head.

The Union Pacific train conductor thought he hit someone and stopped the train.

Fleeing to Brady Boulevard, the man was found by EMS lying on the ground. The man was transported to a nearby hospital after he was injured by the axe.
