SAN ANTONIO — A man has died after a crash that happened On Thursday.

According to police, around 6:39 p.m., 44-year-old Matthew Delgado was a passenger in a BMW 525 that was being driven westbound on Gardina. The driver of the BMW failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and struck a utility pole. Delgado left the scene just as EMS was arriving, before the officer arrived.

Police say Delgado went to the main Methodist Hospital. Once the severity of his injuries was apparent, Delgado was transferred to University Hospital. He died shortly after arrival at University Hospital.

No criminal charges are pending against the driver.
