SAN ANTONIO — A man has died after being shot by a security guard at an apartment pool on Thursday.
According to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, around 11 p.m. at the Thirty Oaks Apartment Complex, the security guard was conducting his rounds to secure the pool area. No one is allowed in the pool area after 10 p.m.
The security guard confronted the man in the pool area, asked him to leave and a fight broke out between the two. The security guard allegedly used his OC spray to defend himself from the man who was allegedly becoming increasingly aggressive toward him. The security guard then fired his weapon at the man multiple times.
The man was transported to the hospital, but was later pronounced deceased.
A witness stated that the man who was asked to leave the pool area was the aggressor and observed that man attack the security officer. Deputies said a 10-year-old witness was also at the scene. The child was not injured but was evaluated by medical staff on site.
