AUSTIN, Texas – Following a meeting in Austin, the city of Charlotte, North Carolina, has been selected as the host of the 2020 Republican National Convention, according to Nevada GOP chairman Michael McDonald.

McDonald said that the site selection committee voted in favor of the convention being held in the Queen City.

The official announcement will take place Friday. At that meeting, about 168 members will vote, and two-thirds of those GOP members need to vote yes to officially approve Charlotte as the host city.
