NATIONWIDE – Amazon Prime Day has arrived, offering shoppers a longer window to hunt down deals.

Unfortunately, technical problems starting plaguing its website and app around 2 p.m. Central time. Shoppers were expected to spend as much as $3.4 billion during the event. 

 
The annual day has been extended to 36 hours, which is six hours longer than last year.

Prime Day is on Monday, July 16 starting at 3 p.m. In 2017, it was the largest day for Amazon sales ever.

The price to join Amazon Prime is $119 for a one-year subscription.

One of the biggest Prime Day deals already being advertised is the Echo Show. It was previously $299 and is now $129.
