MANOR, Texas – An investigation is underway into what caused six railroad cars to derail in downtown Manor on Tuesday.

Around 4 a.m. the railroad cars derailed near San Marcos Street. The cars were carrying dirt.

It is estimated the rail road tracks will be blocked for at least a day to clean up the derailment and repair the tracks. Commuters are asked to use Burnet or Lexington Street as an alternate route.

No one was injured and there is no threat to the public.

The train was operated by a freight operator with WATCO.

Round Rock personnel are investigating. Capital Metro will conduct a full investigation along with WATCO.
