GEORGETOWN, Texas — Law enforcement across the Central and South Texas region are taking a few moments this past week or two for a friendly lip sync competition.

It began in Bexar County when Deputy Alexander Meña recorded a video of him lip synching in his patrol car.

From there, the competition spread to San Antonio Police, then to Williamson County, Austin and beyond.

Williamson County Sheriff Robert Chody joined the action after a deputy posted a video. Those videos were followed up this week by several Williamson County Sheriff's deputies doing their rendition of Madonna's Vogue. Chody hopes it shows his deputies are no different that the people they serve and protect.

"We all have had that moment where we have lip synced--whether we were in a car, in a police car, as a teenager, as a cop, in the shower," he said.

Chody said his involvement in the lip sync challenge began when he was tagged by a couple folks at Spectrum News. The police lip sync battle is still going strong more than two weeks after it started.
