SAN ANTONIO—One person was killed and children were injured in a crash on the Southside of San Antonio.

According to San Antonio authorities, the incident happened on northbound Interstate 35 near New Laredo Highway around 12 p.m. Saturday. 

Police said the deceased, identified as 57-year-old Maricela Vasquez, was a passenger in the Ford Explorer and was seated with three other people - an 8-year-old, 2-year-old and and a 16-year-old. 

The Explorer blew a tire, and the driver took faulty evasive action. Police said the car went into a grassy median and rolled several times, ejecting the rear seat passengers. 

At last check, police said, the driver, a front seat passenger and the 2-year-old were stable. The 8-year-old and the 16-year-old were last listed in critical condition.

Authorities are still working to determine if anyone involved in the crash were family members.
