CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A Providence Day School student injured in a bus crash in Argentina last week has died.

  • Student's name hasn't been released
  • Ten students and two faculty chaperones were on the trip
  • Seven students have already returned home

The head of the school says Deven Sawyer passed away after being injured the bush crash.

A group of ten students and two faculty chaperones were part of a travel group to the country.

At least seven students have already returned home.

Head of School Dr. Glyn Cowlishaw released a statement saying, "We are engaged in a school-wide effort to comfort and support our students, teachers, and friends. During this challenging time, the care and support of the family and our Providence Day community is our top priority."
