SAN ANTONIO -- The new Tricentennial commemorative book, "300 Years of San Antonio & Bexar County," is on store shelves.

The book features contributions from 45 writers to tell the story of San Antonio through an illustrated book.

The book’s themes include "we are all visitors here," "becoming San Antonio," "the soul of San Antonio" and "San Antonio and global San Antonio."

San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg said that the city’s Tricentennial is an opportunity for the community to come together to learn about the city’s history and work together to build the foundation for the next generation.

"In the last 300 years, the historic region that was known as Bejar has grown to include the city of San Antonio and 26 suburban cities that now make up modern Bexar County. We must continue to learn from each other and work together to leave behind a better tomorrow for the next generation. This jointly sponsored book provides us with new perspectives to tell our story and allow us to make good decisions for the future," said Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff.

The book is published by Trinity University Press as a hardcover and ebook and sells for $32.50. It can be purchased at local booksellers or at sanantonio300.org/commemorative-book.
