SAN ANTONIO -- University of Texas San Antonio is receiving some special recognition from the National Security Agency for its cybersecurity initiatives.

The university has been designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Operations Fundamental for 2018 through 2023.

The NSA chose UTSA for this honor because of their courses and the ability to make students work-force ready. The school's computer science program introduced six new courses in the past three years. They also added a new Cyber Operations Track focus that will be available this fall.

Students are trained in the areas of intelligence, military and law enforcement operations.
