SAN ANTONIO — The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office on Friday identified the 54-year-old woman who police said was fatally stabbed in the neck by her son at a Northwest Side home.

Police were called to the scene in the 2100 block of West Kings Highway at approximately 8:20 p.m. Thursday, May 24, to find Leticia Barnett dead after her son, 29-year-old Ivan Rafael Castro, allegedly attacked her with a sharp object, police said.

Barnett had multiple lacerations on her neck, according to the police report.

Castro was arrested at the home and now faces a charge of murder. He was booked into the Bexar County Jail on a $150,000 bond.
