AUSTIN, Texas — Do you have what it takes to be one of Texas Department of Public Safety's state troopers?

Aside from a written test and knowing state laws, recruits have to go through intensive physical training and meet fitness standards.

More than 80 recruits worked out at the DPS Headquarters in Central Austin Wednesday in preparation for the combat fitness test. They have five workout stations to go through: the wall medicine ball toss, sumo squats, step ups, military barbell lifts and rowing.

Five workouts don't sound too bad, but when you have to spend one minute per workout at least five times in under 17 minutes, it tests your physical and mental strength in preparation for stressful situations out in the field.

Reporter Victoria Maranan gave it a try, here's a look at how she did!
