SAN ANTONIO -- Two local women are celebrating the births of their babies during Mother's Day weekend at Northeast Baptist Hospital.

Laoni Evans, a mother of three, gave birth to a six-pound, one-ounce baby girl named Raelynn Nicole Harris. While, Julia Brand gave birth to a six pounds seven ounces baby girl named Sienna Elizabeth Brand.

Northeast Baptist Hospital confirmed Raelynn was the first baby doctors delivered on Mother's Day at 12:23 a.m. The baby was delivered three weeks before her due date.

"I feel more in love with her because [her birth] was actually on Mother's Day instead of the day after or the weeks after. I feel happy," Evans said.

Brand delivered her baby just shy of Mother's Day on May 12.

"Mother's Day has been great. It's been super special that she was born around this time," Brand, a first-time mom said.

Both mothers were showered with a few extra goodies before departing the hospital.
