SAN ANTONIO – There's no party like this Fiesta party.

PACfest at Palo Alto College draws nearly 10,000 people each year.

"I think it's great. We had a beautiful turnout this year," said Ricardo Herrera. "Bringing together the community from the South Side."

Students mingled with the South Side community; providing great food and entertainment like they have for more than a decade.

"It's an official Fiesta event. It has been since 2003. This year we are a Tricentennial event as well and really it's a community fundraiser. It's a fundraiser for all the student organizations on campus," said PACfest chair Jerry Arellano.

You won't find alcohol at this event. Just lots of family fun and it’s exactly what these locals like to see.

"It's nice for the kids as well so they can come out and enjoy the nice day as well," said Kayla Contreras.

Organizers said the success of this long running Fiesta event is all thanks to a community willing to give back.

"I love this event. I wouldn't do Fiesta without coming to this event. They do such a great job," said Steve Duran, who serves as King of Piñatas in el Barrio.

"It is the largest Fiesta event south of Highway 90 and I think it's because it's the community's college. Palo Alto was founded in 1985. The first institution of higher ed south of highway 90, so the people really embraced this college. So to have an event as big as this it speaks to the community's commitment to Palo Alto College and their support of Palo Alto college," said Arellano.
