SAN ANTONIO — One man is dead after the car he was driving burst into flames.

According to Bexar County deputies, a man was driving a small red car west on Alamo Ranch Parkway at a high rate of speed. He hit a curb and went airborne. The car landed, crashed into a light pole and caught on fire.

People at a movie theater across the street ran over and tried to rescue the unconscious man from the car, but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead on arrival.
