SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio firefighters are investigating what caused a structural collapse on the East Side Thursday morning.

The structure collapse was reported at the 1500 block of East Commerce Street at North Olive Street around 10 a.m. Crews were looking for possible victims inside, but didn’t find anyone inside.

The cause of the collapse is believed to be due to deterioration or wind. The building did not have a roof and the free-standing walls collapsed.

Fearing for their safety firefighters observed the collapse from a basket above.
