SAN ANTONIO — Rey Feo surprised students at Crockett Elementary on Thursday.

He and the Fiesta princess went to the school to send a message of education, wellness and community service to students.

"It gets us excited to keep going and to keep visiting schools to just, just to continue to help them know the importance of education and to also to just know that we care for them and support them and want them to know that we have their back in all that they do," Chris Carmona, the Rey Feo Education Minister, said.

Rey Feo is also known as “The People’s King” and is part of the San Antonio Fiesta Court Royalty. El Rey Feo is selected by the local San Antonio LULAC council for raising the most money for the LULAC scholarship fund. During Fiesta, he visits schools and Latino-sponsored events. He wants to visit at least 70 schools this Fiesta season. Organizers said he'll probably surpass that goal.
