WACO, Texas -- Baylor University paid former football coach Art Briles more than $15 million after a sexual assault scandal hit the football program.

Reports say former university president Ken Starr also received more than $4 million following his resignation in 2016. The figures surfaced in an annual required tax filing to the IRS.

Starr quit shortly after a review found the university did little in response to sexual assault allegations involving members of the football program. Briles has since apologized for what took place under his watch, but has pushed back against some accusations made against him.
