SAN ANTONIO – UPDATE: A Flood Warning for Bexar, Comal and Blanco counties has expired. A flash flood watch is only active for counties east of I-35. 

 

 

ORIGINAL STORY: Heavy rain is hitting San Antonio  and surrounding areas hard Wednesday morning prompting a Flash Flood Warning until 6:45 a.m.

The warning includes Bexar, Blanco, Comal Counties.

A tornado warning has been issued for Southeastern Caldwell County in south central Texas. 

Thousands of people are in the dark this morning due to the heavy storms sweeping across the city. 

The rain has been picking up since 1 a.m. Chief Meteorologist Burton Fitsimmons said the rain has been falling at a rate of four inches per hour.
