SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are investigating what led up to the death of a man they found crashed into a tree with an apparent gunshot wound on the West Side.

Overnight on Tuesday, officers were called to San Fernando and Southwest 26^th streets for a shooting.

When they arrived, investigators found a man dead inside a car that had collided with a tree. It appears he also suffered from a gunshot wound.

Police have not said anything about looking for suspects.

The man’s identity will not be released until his next of kin is notified.
