AUSTIN, Texas - According to a statement from the FBI Tuesday evening, that agency, the ATF and the Austin Police Department have confirmed that packages located at two FedEx facilities earlier in the day are connected to the four package explosions that have occurred in Austin since March 2.

Schertz Police Department officers responded to a package explosion at the FedEx facility located at 9935 Doerr Lane in Schertz about 12:25 a.m. Tuesday. A FedEx employee complained of ringing in the ear following the explosion. She was treated at the scene and released.

About 6:19 a.m. Tuesday, Austin police responded to the FedEx facility at 4117 McKinney Falls Parkway following a call about a suspicious package. The package contained an explosive device. Police intercepted before detonation occurred. There were no injuries.

Investigators urged the public to remain vigilant and not to approach a suspicious object.
