CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – A wanted sex offender affiliated with the Surenos Trece gang has just been added to Texas' Top 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list with a reward up to $2,000 for his capture.

Eric Rene Ruiz, 28, failed to register as a sex offender and has been wanted in Texas since October 2017. Ruiz was convicted of an attempted aggravated sexual assault involving a 44-year-old woman in Nueces County.

According to the Department of Public Safety, Ruiz has a history of violating his sex offender registration requirements. He was sentenced to five years in prison.

DPS describes Ruiz as 5’4” tall and an estimated 150 pounds. He has tattoos on his stomach, back, chest, left hand, left thigh, right leg and the word “Alameda” tattooed on his right forearm.

Ruiz often uses the alias Mario Davila and has ties to Corpus Christi. The public is warned not to approach Ruiz as he is considered armed and dangerous.

The $2,000 reward is offered by Texas Crime Stoppers for any information that can lead to his arrest. Crime Stoppers are funded by the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division.
